Tax Accountant—Senior/Supervisor

Job Description

  • Candidate must be a CPA and have a minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience specializing in tax preparation, review and research.
  • Supervisors are developing their business acumen and their ability to advise clients on various matters while further developing their client relationships.
  • They show leadership skills while acting as in-charges on client engagements through delegating work, providing adequate instructions and performing effective review and supervision throughout the engagements.
  • Supervisors are proactive in the firm which may include, but is not limited to, updates to various industry standards—specifically tax related, various software projects, team training and other internal firm responsibilities.
  • They show a commitment to business development activities and building relationships in our community.

Paraprofessional/Payroll Specialist

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Accounting is required, with 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting and payroll experience; prior experience in a public accounting firm or other professional services firm is a plus.
  • Candidates must be proficient in Word and Excel; experience with payroll software required; experience with Creative Solutions software a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Position requires detail-oriented, conscientious, innovative, flexible individual who can perform a variety of tasks on a daily basis and has the ability to work well with a professional team.
  • Candidates must be motivated, logical, willing to learn and have ability to operate with a sense of urgency.

Duties:

  • Processing payroll for multiple clients and multiple pay cycles
  • Managing workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Preparing payroll tax filings
  • Client bookkeeping, reconciliations and journal entries
  • Monitoring and coordinating tax filing due dates, including e-filing and collating processes
  • Other administrative office duties, including typing and proofreading reports

Experienced Accountant/Senior Accountant

Job Description

  • Experienced/Senior accountants possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an efficient manner.
  • Experienced/Senior accountants participate in audit, review and compilation engagements—assuming responsibility for significant parts of engagements, including planning.
  • They possess analytical skills to effectively prepare and analyze financial statements, tax returns and other client projects.
  • Experienced/Senior accountants demonstrate team development by assisting with both formal and on-the-job training.
  • They obtain a good working knowledge of accounting, tax and other applicable software.
  • Experienced/Senior accountants are introduced to selected internal firm responsibilities.

The successful and ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record of academic and professional excellence
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and eligible to sit for the CPA exam—CPA licensure is desirable, but not required
  • A minimum of two years of public accounting experience
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude and a desire to learn and grow!
